Chinatown

img_3013Processed with VSCO with c8 presetProcessed with VSCO with c8 presetimg_3014img_2996-1Processed with VSCO with c8 presetLast weekend I decided to visit Chinatown. It wasn’t my first time because I’ve walked up and down these streets so many times on my way to Picadilly or Oxford Circus, but this  time I went specifically to spend the afternoon wandering around the area.

Feeling like a tourist in your own city is a bit of a must from time to time, but whilst great in theory, it’s kind of tricky, especially if you decide to do that on a Sunday afternoon when the amount of tourists pouring down the streets can be overwhelming.

That didn’t stop us from exploring the shops for exotic food and a new set of chopsticks, having lunch in a Chinese restaurant and even queuing 20 minutes for Bubble wrap waffles. Despite the cold it was so worth the wait.

For the last few weeks I’ve been stocking up on new knitwear but until this week it wasn’t really cold enough to wear this cozy thing. I got it from H&M for a bargain and it’s the warmest jumper I own.

Red Alert

bath-14bath-16bath-20bath-50bath-38bath-29bath-33

After a few days of horrible weather in London we finally got lucky with a sunny weekend, so we used the opportunity to have a city break to Bath.

It’s very rare that I end up falling in love with a city as quickly as I fell in love with Bath. It reminds me of my other favorite place in Britain, Edinburgh, with its Georgian architecture, cobbled streets and cute little cafes and shops along the pavement. There is no surprise the city is listed as a Unesco World Heritage site.

I will share my excitement in my next blog post where I will list all the things that I loved about this fantastic city but for now let’s focus on the things I wore.

As the weather forecast shows 20 or more for the next few weeks and I’m hoping for an Indian summer, I’m not ready to put away my summer clothes just yet. That’s how I ended up getting this pretty skirt from ‘& Other Stories‘. I have a habit of stopping at & Other Stories everytime I’m passing by because of their simplicity. Everything is so pretty but so simple which is very hard to find these days.

This skirt was something that I had spent a long time searching for, simple and elegant but effective. There is also a white option but it has a completely different effect.  Red  gives you that feeling of power and defiance, just like wearing red lipstick.

I was also thinking I could probably wear it with ankle boots and a leather jacket in autumn but it’s very thin and summery so I’m very much hoping for that Indian summer.

I paired it with my favorite ever summer things, wedge espadrilles, off shoulder top and straw bag.

Golden Dreams

For a while now, pleated skirts are every girl’s must have item. Have to say, I was a little bit skeptic about it because literally I never wore a skirt that covers my knees. I though it will make me look like my grandma, considering I mostly wear flat shoes.

So, the skirt was regularly avoided in every shop until recently when I was browsing through ASOS, as usual trying to spend money on things that I don’t need. This skirt looked so pretty that I didn’t care about price, especially not length. I’m wearing it now with ankle boots but it will look great on sandals or heels or even ballet flats.

I just can’t be more happy about it.

Another obsession at the moment is velvet. I managed to avoid the trap of buying expensive velvet dresses, trousers or coats which will be out of fashion probably by the end of this year and opted for safer option –  accessories and boots.

These boots are from Dorothy Perking and I love the fact that they are actually navy blue but depending on the light they are changing color and sometimes look black.

Velvet bag has a long story. It’s been sold out in burgundy and black for a long time now. I managed to hunt down last one at Topshop sale last week after looking for it literally everywhere! Great cure for January depression!

After discovering Syon House and Garden earlier this year I just keep coming back. Not many know about this place, probably because it’s a secluded, all the way in the zone 5, London Borough of Hounslow, and it’s used mainly as a wedding venue.

I’ve never been a model but I love the process of taking the pictures and rushing home to edit them. That’s why it wasn’t a problem for me to wake up early on Sunday morning and go to this magical place with my friend before other people start coming. We were lucky because it was a beautiful sunny and warm September day.

Walking around and enjoying only birds and squirrels, I couldn’t stop thinking about all the people who use to lived there, and some still do ( house is owned by Duke of Northumberland).I was feeling like I’m in a fairytale, most possibly because of tulle with gold embroidery I finally found!

Borough Colours

001_JH.jpg

Many people visited Borough Market but you can’t say you actually been there until you visit it on Saturday early morning, without tourists, crowd and noise.

It’s so peacefull and you can actually see all of its beauty rather than bumping into people.

If you’re a foodie, Borough Market is heaven. They have everything you could possibly wish for. From grocery stalls, piled high with fresh produce to artisanal bakeries, deli shops to most important, street food stalls.

I got up last Saturday way too early for me and went for a stroll with my friend

If you think you don’t need flowers, you will change your mind when you see this cute place.

Anyone for some delicious fruits?

IMG_1649IMG_1658010_JH

And lots of good looking stalls…

Who would resist and not have sneaky little treat…or two

I’m so glad that, even though summer is almost finished, new collections on the high street are still colourful.

As soon as I saw this skirt I knew that this is the item that will keep me cheerful during cold autumn days.

And of course, everyone needs cute little bee bag, right?

Navy Days

Throw back to beginning of my summer holidays. I’m wearing a t shirt made by Lola Tees, brand from Ljubuski,Bosnia and Herzegovina .Behind the name are two girls Jelena Dzolic and Helena Bilic who managed to become popular thanks to Instagram and Facebook. They are creating statement t shirts with popular hashtag # and funny phrases which are hard translatable to English unfortunately

Friday Favourites

Favourite Coffee

Like a big coffee drinker I’m trying to avoid places like Starbucks because that’s not really a coffee, not to me though.

I’m more into those independent small coffee shops so when I discovered new place called Black Penny in Covent Garden I was amazed with the first sip of that coffee. It’s creamy ,delicious and not bitter at all.

And I can day for sure it’s the best coffee I ever tried.

Black Penny is inspired by the coffee houses of 17th Century England and it’s located on Great Queen Street in Covent Garden so stop by if not for coffee then definitely for delicious breakfast or lunch which you can choose from lovely display on the counter

Favourite Outfit

This is probably the best off shoulder top that I’ve ever seen. And it’s not surprising Olivia is wearing it

Favourite Accessories

As if handbags  are not enough accessories by them self now they need to have their own accessories. But that’s fine, these cute furry pom poms you’ll like to have.

I had one already last season but now they are everywhere from Fendi to Topshop and Accessorize . Opt for bright colours to give a life to dark and boring colours of winter.

Favourite Make Up

In this case make up remover 🙂

So I purchased the Garnier Micellar Water just to see what is all the fuss about that Micellar Water .To be honest , I’ve always been more of a makeup wipe kind of girl when it comes to removing makeup.

For those who don’t know what is Micellar water her is the clue. Micellar water takes its name from micelles, tiny  balls of cleansing molecules that float in the water. And that molecule binds with oil and dirt ,therefore removing it from your face.

I have to say Garnier have impressed me. Normally when I’m cleaning my face rubbing is necessary but with this everything comes off straight away. I would recommend to everyone

Favourite Movie

If you are in fashion you probably seen Dior and I,if you are thinking to go into fashion first see Dior and I,if you are into art or drama see Dior and I! This all access documentary is focusing on new Creative Director of Dior Raf Simmons . He joined Dior in Spring 2012 and had only 8 weeks to put together his first couture show which usually takes 6 months.

The best thing about “Dior and I” are the  humor and tensions through the whole movie

This dress I got from Abercrombie & Fitch year ago when I was still thinking that London actually has summer! Year later I’m wearing this dress second time and second time in Croatia. Why London, why?!

Anyway, this dress was love at first and even though it’s tiny and really summery and I will not have much chance to wear it,I’m happy that I have it in my closet because of this great Croatian summer nights
